Forum Members Aren’t Here for Paris Jackson’s Irrelevant Vogue Brazil Cover

Paris Jackson was wholeheartedly embraced by the fashion industry in 2017, signing a lucrative contract with Calvin Klein and covering the likes of Vogue Australia, Harper’s Bazaar, CR Fashion Book and Teen Vogue. Vogue Brazil (as well as Carine Roitfeld) ushers Paris into 2018, as the 19-year-old graces the title’s cover for January, following a series of Valentina Sampaio covers for December. Paris was photographed by Jacques Dequeker wearing Prada in the fairly simple black and white image.

Members of our forums weren’t having it. “What in the fresh hell is this?” asked a horrified dodencebt upon seeing the cover.

“They are trying very hard to make her happen but she is very irrelevant in this industry. She is neither a style icon or someone who is doing good music or movies. She has done nothing,” pointed out a completely disinterested Lola701.

“She’s not even that popular on social media – it just feels like it’s being forced upon us,” voiced magsaddict.

“A pretty girl, but not her best shot. It looks like she’s going through a teenage experiment of not washing her hair for several weeks,” added tigerrouge.

Valentine27 felt the same way, commenting, “She’s very pretty but this cover does nothing for her!”

Also not into the cover was forum member mistress_f: “I have so many questions… why is this girl everywhere? They’re really trying to make her happen, right? Also, what the hell is this cover? That red framing?!”

“What is that red thing/effect even trying to accomplish? This is a mess,” echoed Wintergreen.

Better luck next month, Vogue Brazil. See more from Paris’ cover shoot and add your own two cents here.

Take Precautions Against a Variety of Pests This Winter

Arizona Pest Control shares information on common pests that invade homes during the colder monthsPest Control Tucson

Arizona Pest Control suggests following this simple pest prevention guide to avoid an infestation this winter.

Rats: Norway rats can fit through an opening as small as a quarter. To keep these rodents from sneaking into the home unnoticed, inspect the outside of the home for any gaps or cracks and fill them with silicone caulk and steel wool.

Mice: House mice are known to contaminate food, spread disease and cause property damage by chewing through drywall and wires. Homeowners should be aware of any scurrying sounds in walls and regularly inspect for signs of mice, such as droppings, gnaw marks and damaged food.

Spiders: Many types of spiders are found inside items, such as shoes, gloves and baseball mitts, that aren’t used as frequently as other things around the house. People should store these items inside plastic containers to prevent spiders from crawling inside.

Cockroaches: German cockroaches prefer to live in small areas close to food and moisture, which is why they are commonly found in kitchens and bathrooms. As such, homeowners should keep their counters and floors clean, vacuum frequently and dispose of garbage on a regular basis.

Video: Riding a Cruise Ship Through the ‘Bomb Cyclone’

Normally we don’t think about a Caribbean cruise as being much of an adventure, but it can turn into quite the experience when your cruise line – in this case Norwegian – decides to ignore weather warnings and sail directly into the so-called “Bomb Cyclone” that hit the east coast of the U.S. last week. The video below gives you an indication of what this was like for the 4000 passengers onboard,…

Facebook paid damages to a teenager after a naked photo of her was shared on the site (FB)

Mark Zuckerberg

  • Facebook agreed to pay unspecified damages to a teenager whose naked photo was shared on the social network.
  • The case is believed to be the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

Facebook has paid damages to a teenager in Northern Ireland after a naked photograph of her taken when she was 14 was shared on the social network several times, The Telegraph reports.

The image was apparently obtained through blackmail, and reportedly shared on a “shame page” multiple times from November 2014 to January 2016. After the teenager sued for negligence, breach of the Britain’s Data Protection Act, and misuse of private information, Facebook reportedly tried to get the case dismissed, arguing it always took the image down once it was reported.

But it has since agreed to pay unspecified damages, as well as the teenager’s legal costs. The teenager cannot be named for legal reasons.

The case is believed to be the first of its kind anywhere in the world — and has the potential to open the door to further claims against Facebook and other social networks like it over how they police their platforms.

A spokesperson for Facebook did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.

In November 2017, the social network tested a new approach to combatting revenge porn — asking users to actively upload their own intimate photos, so the company’s software learns what they look like and can automatically flag them if they’re shared on its platform.
