Kim Kardashian’s New Fragrance Has Been Banned in Australia

Well this stinks.

Aussies’ attempts to ~Keep Up With The Kardashians~ have been foiled by Customs officials, who’ve reportedly banned Kim’s lush new fragrance from being shipped to Australia.

Kim Kardashian West’s new Crystal Gardenia scent has been a hit since it went on sale last month, but Aussie fans who ordered it online have been left with a foul smell in their nostrils, after it was reportedly blacklisted for containing “flammable/hazardous material”.

According to TMZ, the perfume’s alcohol content has been ruled too damn high, with members of Kim’s team telling the publication that she had no idea it might present a problem when the product went on sale.

The Sun reports that Kim is now offering full refunds to Aussie and NZ customers who’ve missed out on smelling like the enchanting combination of gardenia, pink jasmine, orange oil, purple passionfruit, rose and — apparently — a tray full of long island ice teas.

The reality star previously revealed that her new fragrance was inspired by her dramatic robbery in Paris, which saw her held at gunpoint, telling Entertainment Tonight: “After my whole Paris situation over a year ago, all my friends would come over and bring me healing crystals.

“I wasn’t really into them. I didn’t know much about them. Enough people brought them over that I love the shape, I loved holding it, and I felt like, ‘OK, this is it. I want something that I feel like calms me, is healing…’

“And I wanted the bottle, especially the smaller one.”

Kim’s Crystal Gardenia scent range — which is available in OG, citrus and OUD — is retailing for around AUD$80 per 60mL bottle.

Mass Amounts Of Insects Continue To Stink Up Swimming Pools In Southern California

Mass Amounts Of Insects Continue To Stink Up Swimming Pools In Southern California

One month ago swarms of boatmen bugs began to swarm the California desert. These bugs wound up in Coachella Valley swimming pools. At the time, pool-owning residents considered this bug invasion a mere inconvenience that would go away after a thorough pool cleaning. However, this has not been the case, as the bugs are just as numerous in Coachella Valley swimming pools as they were one month ago. Now, pool owners are becoming angry as having pools cleaned is more expensive than ever. Pool owners are claiming that boatmen bugs are immediately repopulating swimming pools after they are cleaned.

One resident of La Quinta claimed that the bugs stink terribly, and he has had to pay to have millions of them removed from his pool on just one single occasion. The surface of this frustrated resident’s pool was pure black from all of the bugs inhabiting it. Apparently he has had to pay well over fifteen hundred dollars as a result of the bugs littering his pool.

According to experts, anyone who wants to be rid of the bugs must have pools treated with an algaecide, or simply wait for the bugs to go away. Seeing swarms of boatmen bugs is not unusual for this region since these bugs are native. The insects are not harmful and they are believed to originate from the Salton Sea. These bugs are most active during the summer, they reach eight millimeters in length, and they feed on algae. The only aspect of this recent swarm that experts do find mysterious is the time of year in which the invasion occurred, and why so many of these bugs are winding up on top of cars and within pools. Initially, city streets were also being invaded by mass amounts of these bugs, but lately they have only been sticking to swimming pools.

Have you ever lived in an area where swarms of boatmen bugs were common?

Donald Trump Jr.'s attorney-client privilege claim probably won't work, legal experts say

Donald Trump Jr.

  • Donald Trump Jr. cited attorney-client privilege as the reason he refused to answer lawmakers’ questions about a meeting he had with his father, President Donald Trump.
  • Trump Jr. said because a lawyer was present during the meeting, their conversation was protected.
  • Legal experts say that’s not how attorney-client privilege works.

Donald Trump Jr. invoked attorney-client privilege during his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, arguing that because lawyers were present during one of his meetings with his father, President Donald Trump, he could refuse to answer lawmakers’ questions about their conversation.

The conversation between Trump Jr. and his father was about a meeting Trump Jr. had at Trump Tower in June 2016 with a Russian lawyerto get “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr. spoke with his father shortly after the news about the meeting broke in July 2017, but declined to share details of their discussion with lawmakers.

Lawmakers and legal experts immediately derided Trump Jr.’s invocation of attorney-client privilege, noting on social media and in news outlets that the mere presence of a lawyer does not make a conversation protected.

“A lawyer isn’t a walking cone of silence,” Stanford law professor David Alan Sklansky told Vox. “The attorney-client privilege only protects confidential communications between a lawyer and a client to facilitate the provision of legal services.”

Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told The Washington Post he’ll issue a subpoena if Trump Jr.’s lawyers continue to pursue his claim of attorney-client privilege. In the meantime, Schiff said, the lawyers have asked for more time to decide how to handle the claim.

“I don’t believe you can shield communications between individuals merely by having an attorney present,” Schiff told Politico on Wednesday. “That’s not the purpose of attorney-client privilege.”

Renato Mariotti, a former federal prosecutor, said on Twitter that he doubted any court would conclude Trump Jr.’s conversation with his father was protected.

“The general rule is that a conversation is *not* privileged if a third person is present for the conversation with an attorney and a client,” Mariotti said. “In this instance, both Trump and Trump Jr. are subjects of the same investigation and any legal advice they received on these topics would potentially implicate the other person.”

In fact, no communication between the Trumps would be protected unless both parties were receiving legal advice from a lawyer that applied to both of them, Duke University law professor Samuel Buell told the Post.

“That seems highly unlikely,” Buell said. “And the mere presence of a lawyer in the room is legally irrelevant. This is likely a frivolous assertion of the privilege.”
